Game publisher Ubisoft announces opening of second studio in India, to hire 100 employees in two years

French video game publisher Ubisoft has announced the opening of a new studio on its 10th anniversary in India this year. The studio to be opened in Mumbai in June will hire 100 new talents for co-development of AAA game for its franchises in the first two years of operation.



Ubisoft is creator, publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment and services with the credit of Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance, Tom Clancy’s video game series, Rayman, Far Cry, Watch Dogs games to it.<script async src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>

The new studio will plug into cross-studio collaboration, in which studios from across the globe work together contributing their area of expertise. This the second studio after Pune to be opened in India. The Mumbai studio will report to Jean-Philippe Pieuchot, Managing Director of the Pune studio. Several seniors will also join the Mumbai team to share their experience with the new recruits and help them ramp up quickly.

The company will also collaborate with the Research Park Foundation of the Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai to focus on machine learning and AI and the Intuit Lab for Game Art.
Christine Burgess-Quémard, Executive Director of Ubisoft’s worldwide studios said “I am proud to see how our production presence is growing, and strongly believe that it is by investing and expanding our knowledge and expertise internally that we will be able to keep delivering the high quality entertainment experiences of the future.”

Whereas Jean-Philippe Pieuchot, the Managing Director for Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai said “Our ambition is to contribute towards the development of the Indian video game ecosystem by partnering closely with top schools and institutions.”

Ubisoft is currently hiring for its next studio in Mumbai and says that qualified applicants applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to their race, ethnicity, religion, gender sexual orientation, age or disability status.
